Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification tests. The Faculty Dashboard in Workday includes an option to "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to find their exam schedules. Additionally, the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for classes in which an exam is required by NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes in the evening are scheduled during the regular class meeting times of the final exam weeks.

Registration

The exam schedule is accessible online and students are advised to review it. It is important to note that the final schedule of exams may be altered at any time. For this reason, students should consult with their instructors to confirm that they have the correct date and time for their test. Students should also make certain to print the official list and bring it with them to their exam.

Students should also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and conditions of the exam, in addition to the schedule. These are available on the exam's individual page. When they register, students agree that they agree to these conditions and terms.

Exam sites make every effort to accommodate participants who have special needs. The nature and severity of these needs should be noted on the registration form and verified by a doctor's attestation. In addition the exam sites must respect confidentiality and be maintained.

If a student is scheduled to take three tests on the same day, they must contact their instructor or department in order to arrange for a make-up test. Before taking the test students must prepare by reviewing their course material and practice their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test which measures the ability to read, speak and write in German. The exam results are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. This level is the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free. Students should bring a valid government-issued ID to the test. Students who do not have a valid picture identification will be disqualified.

Fees


If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to receive an Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you must pay the examination fee. This is in addition to the course fee.
